I tell myself this story, now here it comes again

Restless in my bed, from midnight till dawn

I woke up in the morning, and I knew what I’d done wrong

There’s only so much one can handle, the track, the gin, the cards

Dewars in my pocket, spare cash in my shoe

Surely, you must have known that I’d messed up before

I’ve done some introspection. admitted to some flaws

Submitted to the process where they take away your claws
