The Innocent Bystanders played their first gig with saxophonist Eric Lane on May 24, 2014, in the Kensington section of San Diego. The band opened with Pretty Woman and played three sets, closing with Gloria. The crowd of approximately 70 enjoyed the show.

On April 3, 2014, The Innocent Bystanders were the first Rock & Roll band to play the Central San Diego Library Auditorium. They played 5 songs: Pretty Woman, Walk in the Room, Ball & Chain, Jailhouse Rock, and I Fought the Law.
Opening with I kenw the Bride When She Used to Rock & Roll, The Innocent Bystanders played a two hour set at the wedding of Leah Christensen and Patrick Long in downtown San Diego. The band played the Otis Redding classic “That’s How Strong My Love Is” for the bride and groom’s first dance.
